Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha on Wednesday distributed appointment letter to the aspirants for the posts of food inspector here in a function at Agartala and said that the government has adopted transparent recruitment policy to ensure job opportunities for the unemployed youths of the state.
Addressing the newly selected aspirants, who received the appointment letters, Chief Minister Dr Saha said that as of now the 19,262 government jobs were provided through transparent recruitment policy.
Food Minister Sushant Chowdhury and other guests present handed over the appointment letters to 15 job recipients selected for the post of Food Inspector. A mega blood donation camp was organized in the framework of the program by the joint initiative of the Food, Public Procurement and Consumer Affairs, Transport and Tourism departments. The Chief Minister visited the blood donation camp and encouraged the blood donors.
“The present state government has laid special emphasis on quality and efficiency in the field of employment. Since this government came to power by maintaining a transparent recruitment process, a total of 19,262 people, including die-in-harness, have been given government jobs in various departments till today (May 21),” said Dr Saha.
The Chief Minister further said that initiatives have been taken to fill the vacant posts along with creating new posts in various departments. Employment opportunities are being created for self-reliance, he said, adding that in the last one year, 37 LDCs and 19 multi-tasking workers have been selected through JRBT and joined the Food Department.
The Chief Minister also mentioned that initiatives have been taken to appoint 12 more Sub Inspectors, 6 Storekeepers and 35 Store Guards in the Food Department.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said that the employees of the Food Department at all levels are continuously making unremitting efforts to keep the public distribution system of the state functioning. To ensure food security of the people of the state, free rice is being continuously provided to 6.06 lakh priority households and Antyodaya Anna Yojana families under the public distribution system. 3.83 lakh APL families are being provided rice at subsidized rates, he added.
Meanwhile, the state food and civil supplies minister Sushanta Chowdhury said, “Government jobs are being provided through a transparent recruitment policy in every field. Jobs are being provided to qualified people by rising above politics."
