Police staff of R.K. Pur Women Police Station harassed by family members when they tried to stop clash between two families after kidnapping girl of one family by boy of another yesterday.
Sources said that family members of a 19 years old girl filed a complaint at the Women Police Station that the girl was missing and suspected that she was kidnapped by the son of Chittaranjan Sarkar.
Receiving the complain police from Women Police Station the house of Chittaranjan Sarkar at Hirapur of Maharani area. At that time father, mother and maternal uncle of the girl was along with police. Arriving at the house of Chittaranjan Sarkar they found that the girl has married with son of Chittaranjan Sarkar.
All of a sudden family members’ bride and bridegroom engaged in scuffle.
In course of trying to bring the situation under control some women police staffs were harassed by the family members. Women police staff Iva Saha fall down on the ground by dashing family members and became senseless. One member snatched the mobile of another staff when she tried to take photograph of the incident.
On being informed a large contingent of police rushed to the spot and rescued the girl. Then handed over the girl to her family members.
Meanwhile SDPO Himadri Das went to the spot for investigation of the incident. He called on Chiranjit Sarkar and Chittaranjan Sarkar at the police station for interrogation and released them later.
