Four illegal Bangladeshi held at Agartala Railway Station

AGARTALA:

In a joint operation, the Agartala Government Railway Police (GRP), Railway Protection Force (RPF), and the Intelligence Department apprehended four Bangladeshi nationals late last night at the Agartala Railway Station for illegal entry into India.

According to Tapas Das, Officer-in-Charge of Agartala GRP, the four individuals had crossed into India without valid documents and were preparing to travel further by train. During preliminary interrogation, the accused admitted that they intended to head towards Bengaluru and Chennai.

The arrested individuals have been identified as, Zahirul Islam alias Zahir (42), resident of Dhaka, Dilwar Hossain (44), resident of Shariatpur, Jamirul Islam (27), resident of Panchagarh, Mohammad Zia (35), resident of Jamalpur.

All four hail from Bangladesh. A case has been registered at the Agartala GRP Police Station, and further investigation is underway.
