The five days of Durgapuja passed in joyous mode within clean weather at Dhalai district Sadar. There was a speculation of bad days during puja after death of three persons at Ambassa on the day of Panchami.
There was panic of rain till the night of Chaturthi. However the cloud of panic fled away on the day of Sasthi. The devotees and visitors thronged the puja pandals since the night of Mahasashthi.
Many puja pandals of Ambassa organised some activities of social service. People flooded the pandals on night of Ashtami and Nabami although there were fewer crowds on Saptami. All including children to senior citizens participated in the joyful environment of puja.
Sources said that 46 puja held under Ambassa Police Station area including 20 pujas under Ambassa Municipal Council. The budget of the puja committees at town area was from Rs. 40,000 to 5 lakh. All the puja organizers including Nabadiganta, Nabatarun, Nutan Palli, Town Club, Subhash Palli, Santipara tried their best to entertain the devotees. Devotees thronged Ramkrishna Ashram to witness Kumari Puja.
Large number of devotees attended the puja of Recreation club, Mouchak Club and Ramthakur Sangha of Dalubari. Social activities of Rabindra Club at Kulai attracted large number of devotees for seven days.
The arrangement of puja parikrama by Rabindra club with physically challenged and senior citizen got lot of appreciation. The huge pandal and idol of Sonali Sangha also attracted the devotees at Kulai.
At the same time police administration, BJP leaders and Municipal Council authority thanked all devotees for maintaining peace and discipline during the days of puja. Besides different organizers of Durgapuja also thanked the police administration, Municipal Council, clubs and volunteers for maintaining law and order during puja.
Meanwhile Dashami Mela organized with idols of 22 puja committees on October 19 following the tradition of last 66 years. The mela started at 6 p.m. and continued till late night. A large contingent of police and TSR ensured security of the immersion ceremony.
