In a significant anti-narcotics operation conducted in the Tuimadhu area under Teliamura police station on Sunday, Tripura Police along with 71 battalion of CRPF successfully apprehended notorious drug kingpin Gani Mia and two of his associates.
The operation, led by Teliamura Sub-Divisional Police Officer Prasun Kanti Tripura, marked a crucial milestone in the ongoing battle against drug trafficking in the region.
“Acting on credible intelligence, a joint team comprising Teliamura police personnel and CRPF jawans executed a well-coordinated raid on Gani Mia's residence. During the operation, we have seized cash Rs 23,725 and confiscated drugs, consisting of 105 vials of brown sugar”, he said.
In addition to the successful drug seizure, Gani Mia, the notorious drug mafia, was apprehended, along with two of his associates, whose identities are being withheld pending further investigation.
