DM of Gomati T.K. Debnath has passed an order yesterday to stop Durgapuja of Pragati Sangha at West bank of Amarsagar.
In the order DM mentioned that the concerned persons with Pragati Sangha Durga Puja Committee would not be able to organize Durgapuja this year because they provided receipt without approval of Police Station and collected subscription from minor.
Here it could be recalled that some miscreants captured class –VIII student of Udaipur English Medium School Bishal Tripura (13) in a sack and threw him in tank of Amarsagar on September 14. Luckily he succeeded to save himself from drowning into the water.
Later he informed the incident to the owner of his rented house and his father. Afterwards his father filed a complaint to R.K. Pur Police Station.
His father alleged that the members of Pragati Sangha demanded subscription Rs. 2000 to Bishal for Durgapuja of the club and they tried to kill his son as he expressed inability to pay the amount.
However police is conducting investigation of the case at present. Police sources also confirmed that they had got the order of DM to stop the puja of Pragati Sangha Puja Committee for the above mentioned reason.
