Teliamura District Congress announced to nominate candidate at all seats for by-poll of Teliamura and Khowai Municipal Council if the environment remains favourable. The District Congress made this announcement at a press conference organized at Khowai Congress Bhavan with initiative of District Congress today.
The press conference was called in protest of ransacking house of Chief Organizer of Congress Sevadal Jutan Debnath by a youth gang of miscreants in last night at Ganki. District Congress also announced that it would remain along with Block Congress in protest against the violence.
At the same time District Congress strongly condemned the attack at house of Sevadal Organizer. Congress leaders alleged that police reached at the spot on being informed about the incident but not arrested anyone involved with the violence. The leaders appealed police to become stricter to combat such incident.
District Congress president Bikram Sinha, Block Congress president Nikhil Chakraborty, victim of attack Jutan Debnath and some other workers were present at the press conference. District Congress also demanded complete investigation on the incident of attack. In a memorandum the Block Congress requested to take initiative to maintain peaceful environment for participating at by-poll of Municipal Council.
