Court orders accused of assault 5 yrs RI

UDAIPUR:

In a verdict Special Judge of Udaipur Court A.K. Nath convicted accused Litan Shil in allegation of assault of a minor girl yesterday.

The court ordered the accused person for rigorous imprisonment of 5 years and fined Rs. 5000 according to POSCO Act. The term of imprisonment may increase 6 months on failing to pay the fined amount. The court also ordered the accused person one month simple imprisonment under Section 341 of IPC and 6 months more imprisonment under Section 506 of IPC. All the sentences shall run concurrently.

Sources said that Liton Shil, a resident of Chandrapur Colony, Ward no-4 assaulted a 5 years old girl child when she was coming back home from Chandrapur Colony Anganwadi Center on July 9 in 2014.

On being informed her mother filed a complaint at Udaipur Women Police Station against Litan Shil. Earlier also Shil was involved with similar incidents. After the end of investigation police submitted a charge sheet at Udaipur Court. The court convicted the accused person yesterday after hearing statement of 9 witnesses.
