We have to build up new Tripura, new Assam and new Manipur and that will help to build up new India called by Prime Minister Naredra Modi, said Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb while inaugurating 15th Foundation of OTPC at Rajarshi Hall of Udaipur today. Referring Tripura requires 200 MW power in pick hour he stressed on self sufficiency of the state depending on power from natural gas.
Criticizing the previous government for lack of development he said the industrialists are interested to set up industry due to lowest rate of power in the state.
He also cautioned the bank authorities saying that the government would take action against any bank if they fail to provide loan under Mudra Yojona. He said, an amount of Rs. 350 crore government fund is deposited in banks of the state.
During speech he expected that revenue of the state would increase after the completion of bridge on Feni river at Sabroom and introduction of communication of North Eastern states through Tripura.
Referring only two rice mills in the state he said, FCI sends 250 lakh MT rice to Tripura every year. He expected that farmers and mill owners could earn revenue if the farmers could increase rice production and FCI buy rice from here. He said, “A team of FCI will visit state tomorrow to look into the possibility of procuring rice from the state for the purpose of rationing”. The team will visit after recent meeting of Chief Minister with Central Minister Ram Bilash Paswan.
Referring the state government is proceeding to make Tripura as model state in next three years he said, “government will take initiative to bring back 12000 engineers who are working out of the state”. He also stressed on rubber cultivation for attaining self sufficiency. He criticized the previous government for corruption in almost all department and recovering 70,000 fake ration cards and 37,000 fake beneficiaries.
