Chief Minister Prof. Dr Manik Saha on Friday said that modern technological infrastructure has been developed to provide advanced medical services in the state and the health workers including doctors are working sincerely to provide health services to the patients.
Chief Minister said this while inaugurating the state-level training program for dentists of the state at Pragya Bhavan today.
In the inaugural session of the two-day workshop organized by the National Oral Health Programme, the Chief Minister said that the present state government is working on various plans to strengthen the health infrastructure of the state and currently, it is possible to treat various complex diseases in the state itself.
“As a result of this improvement in the medical system, the number of referrals cases from the state to out-of-state has significantly decreased. Modern technological infrastructure has been developed in the state to provide advanced medical services to the people. A long dream dental college of the people of the state has been set up in the IGM Hospital Complex with the aim of developing and expanding dental treatment in the state. Soon the college will start teaching BDS course with 50 students”, said Dr Saha.
The Chief Minister said that the state government has introduced super specialty services to improve health services.
“District and sub-divisional hospitals are being strengthened to reduce the pressure of referral patients to GB Pant Hospital and IGM Hospital. Initiatives have been taken to establish trauma care centers in every district hospital to provide faster and better medical services. Trauma centers have already been set up in South Tripura, Gomati and Dhalai district hospitals. 100 new sub health centers will be constructed to strengthen the basic health infrastructure of the state. For this, the necessary funds have been kept in the budget of the financial year 2023-24”, he added.
