Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha on Friday attended the oath taking ceremony of the newly elected members of the South Tripura Zilla Parishad at Belonia and urged upon the members to ensure that all the welfare schemes of both the Central and the State government are implemented and reach to the last person of the society.
“Present government is working with transparency for the welfare of people,” Dr Saha said, adding that the representatives of three-tier Panchayati Raj System also have to maintain that transparency in their work.
Addressing the representatives of Zilla Parishad the chief minister urged them to win faith of the people through their works.
In context of the recent floods the chief minister said, the present government is working with a holistic policy and is in contact with the central government regularly so that the necessary aid and compensation can be delivered to the affected people.
Director of panchayat department Prasun De administered the oath to 17 members of the Zilla Parishad.
