Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha on Thursday attended the oath taking ceremony of the newly elected members of the West Tripura Zilla Parishad here at Agartala Town Hall and urged upon the members of panchayat samiti and zilla parishad to work with sincerity and maintain transparency.
He underscored the importance of the three-tier panchayat and said that various developmental schemes of the central and state government are implemented through panchayats for the beneficiaries.
Addressing the gathering the Chief Minister said that the government is working with transparency in every sector. He said that keeping the concept of ‘vocal for local’ mooted by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, local resources should be utilized for the development of villages.
The chief minister mentioned about the ‘Aamar Sarkar’ portal launched with the objective of strengthening Panchayati Raj System. He also referred to different awards and honours achieved by the state in Panchayati Raj sector at the national level during the period from 2018 to 2023. He said, these awards reflect the success of the government.
