With the digitalization of the assembly proceedings, the Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Monday launched NeVA application in the Tripura Legislative Assembly and commenced the training programme for the ministers and MLAs on NeVA- One Nation One Application.
The leader of Opposition Animesh Debbarma, Speaker Bishwabandhu Sen, and Deputy Speaker Ramprasad Paul among others were present in the programme.
With the launch of the NeVA application, the members of the assembly to use iPads instead of reading the session’s proceedings and conducting regular business on paper. A mock-training session was also held for the members on Monday.
As a part of the Digital India Mission, the Union government has set up a National e-Vidhan Application (NeVA) aimed at making the proceedings of legislatures of all the states and UTs paperless or digital.
At the initial stage, the elected members of legislative assembly (MLAs) would be given training on paperless features in the proceedings of the assembly session. However, digitalization of complete assembly works would be done in a phase manner. Initiatives are on to digitalize the voting procedure.
