Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha on Thursday hoisted the tricolor here at Agartala Assam Rifles Ground in the event of state function of 78th Independence Day celebration.
Dr Saha remembered the freedom fighters and their role in India’s independence and later underlined the achievements made by the Tripura government for the development of the state. He said that the government is working to present Tripura as an ideal state in the country.
Dr Saha inspected and received guard of honour from the parade of Tripura police, Women platoons, BSF, Assam Rifles, CRPF, and other platoons including NCC and NSS cadets.
A cultural programme was organised in the ground of Assam Rifles, where students from different schools and social organisations participated.
Earlier, Chief Minister Dr Saha hoisted the tricolor at his government residence and Tripura along with the rest of the nation has joined the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign to remember and honour the freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives for country’s freedom.
