CM chairs workshop on proper utilization of RoFR land for tribals

AGARTALA:

Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb today accompanied by the state forest minister Mevar Kumar Jamatia chaired a day long workshop on proper utilization of RoFR land for the welfare of the tribals and indigenous people of this state. The main objective of this workshop was to recognise the forest right land of the tribals in a mission mode.

However addressing the gathering here at Agartala Pragna Bhawan today, the Chief Minister said despite the fact that the patta land was distributed to the tribals here in Tripura as per the Forest rights Act many years back, the previous government has failed to recognise the lands resulting the tribals deprived from their rights.

He said his government is committed to recognise those forest rights land in a mission mode so as to upgrade the socio-economic culture and lifestyle of the tribals.   

Meantime, the Chief Minister today warned the concerned officials of the JICA project to stay away from any negligence in their duty towards proper implementation of the second phase of the JICA project. The Chief Minister said he shall closely monitor the implementation report of JICA project.
