In an incident one cattle smuggler died by the attack of cadres at border area of Belonia yesterday. Source said that the name of the deceased is Abdul Mannan (22) and the incident occurred at Ukil Tilla area under P.R. Bari Police Station at Belonia. Abdul Mannan was the dweller of Chottakhola area.
Sources said that a group of cadres were moving at Ukil Tilla areas who were involved earlier with cattle smuggling and case of smuggling filed against them. The group of cadre noticed that five to six youths were proceeding towards border area.
Observing the youths the cadres started to shout saying that cattle thieves arrived. Hearing the hue and cry some of the villagers came out. As a result member of the youths group Abdul Mannan fall in public fury. He rode on a Garjan tree to save himself. But the cadres cut down the tree and killed him.
On being informed police rushed to the spot and recovered the dead body. The doctor declared Mannan dead when police shifted the body at Chottakhola PHC.
Later police brought the body to Nihar Nagar PHC for post mortem. His body was handed over to family members after post mortem in the afternoon today.
Meanwhile police filed a Suo Moto case in connection of the murder. Besides Police recovered 14 cows and BSF recovered 2 cows near the spot of incident.
