Locals locked the power department at Boxanagar today. Locals have become restless due to continuous power outages in different parts of Boxanagar assembly constituency.
Citizens in Uttar Para area of Ward No. 2 of Putia area have been suffering from power outages for several months. As there was no electricity in the area for the last few months, the residents informed the local electricity division office.
But the officials did not solve the problem. The ruling party leaders of the area have been informed about this for the last few days but no action has been taken. In the end, without getting any response from the local leaders and without any response from the officials of the power office, the locals could not bear the pain of electricity and came to the Boxanagar power department office at 11 o'clock on Friday morning and locked it.
However, the interesting thing is that the locals came to the power department office and did not find any officials. It was twelve o'clock when the office hours ended, but no official of the power office was seen in the office. Locals complained there is no current even after paying bills from them month after month. The citizens are in misery due to the extreme negligence of the corporation. Locals are dissatisfied with the negligence of the power department.
There is frequent load shedding in different areas and even though there has been load shedding for a long time, the power department plays silent role. Meanwhile, the locals complained that even though they had extreme power problems at different times, no one received the call even after repeatedly calling the office of the power corporation with different numbers. They claimed that they will keep this lock on until the authorities solve their problem.
In this regard, Kalamchaura Police Station OC Bishnupada Bhoumik and Boxnagar Block Officer Dhriti Shekhar Roy came and talked to the officials of the Power Corporation office and the locals, after that they solved the problem and opened the lock of the Corporation.
