The Scheduled Caste Welfare Minister Sudhanshu Das on Monday launched BMS portal designed to ensure financial assistance for the SCs in medical treatment in the state.
“Various initiatives are being taken for the convenience of the public in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of building a digital India and it is for this purpose that the BMS portal of the Scheduled Caste Welfare Department has been launched,” the minister said.
He said that until now financial assistance was given in this project through offline application and from now onwards through this BMS portal the patient or his family can apply on the portal with required documents for free medical treatment service.
“Financial assistance will be disbursed to the beneficiary's bank account very quickly after the records of the patients are analyzed by the district welfare officer level,” he said, adding that the patients who have already spent money for treatment also have a chance to get benefits through this portal.
