The ruling BJP on Saturday expressed confidence of sweeping the bye-elections in Dhanpur and Boxanagar assembly constituency with ‘impressive’ majority and castigated the 35 years rule of the communist party in Tripura.
Addressing a press conference on Saturday, the BJP state president Rajib Bhattacharjee said, “People of this state had understood the so-called alliance tactics of the CPI-M party which is deep necked in confusing people ahead of any elections. Moreover, this communist party is now in a position where they are unable to contest any election without partners.”
He said, “There was a rumour that the CPI-M and the Congress party will jointly contest the bye-elections in the two assembly constituencies, but people have not seen any Congress leaders and workers participating in the poll campaign of the CPI-M party. It is a fact that the Congress has no existence in Sonamura subdivision and the evidence is with a prominent Congress leader of Sonamura Billal Miah who recently joined the BJP bringing a jolt to the Congress party.”
“The people of Dhanour and Sonamura, who are frustrated with the misrule of the communist party will surely vote for the BJP this time in the bye-elections and it is evidence from the fact that the people of Sonamura subdivision had already rejected the CPI-M and the Congress party,” he told reporters.
