The state ICA minister Sushanta Chowdhury on Tuesday inaugurated Bharat Ko Jaano festival at Jirania. The programme was jointly organised by the North East Zonal Cultural Center and ICA. The event, which features folk and tribal dances, is aimed at reaching out to the rural and urban areas.
"Unity in diversity is the feature of this country. We must maintain a sense of brotherhood and nationalism among all of us. Every person in this country has to be united," ICA minister said.
He said that there are still many unscrupulous forces in this country who are trying to divide the country in the name of nation and religion. "We have to resist this dishonest force by maintaining unity among ourselves. Culture can play a big role in this."
He said Prime Minister Narendra Modi has taken the initiative to organize such festivals for the purpose of uniting the country's unity tradition.
The North East Zone Cultural Centre (NEZCC), Dimapur in collaboration with the Department of Information and Cultural Affairs of Tripura has started Bharat Ko Jaano – a three-day Chain Yatra festival in different locations of Tripura.
The festival is being organised under the ‘National Cultural Exchange programme' to create awareness about the rich cultural diversity of the country and promote national integration through culture.
The folk artistes from various states have showcased their colourful folk dances and musical-cultural performances during the festival.
