In the wake of catastrophic floods that severely impacted Tripura, Assam Rifles has stepped up its humanitarian efforts to support the affected communities. The recent deluge has displaced thousands, leading to urgent needs for medical and dental care among the flood victims.
In response to the crisis, Assam Rifles established a medical and dental camp at Amarpur Relief Camp in Gomati district on Wednesday. The medical camp in the flood-affected region has been instrumental in offering critical healthcare services, including treatment for waterborne diseases, first aid, and general health check-ups, said the press communique of the Assam Rifles.
Additionally, the dental camp has addressed oral health issues exacerbated by the adverse conditions, offering examinations and other necessary dental procedures.
A team comprising two doctors and medical staff of Assam Rifles alongwith Medical Officer and staff of District Hospital conducted the medical camp thereby benefitting 442 local villagers. Assam Rifles distributed medicines, sanitary pads and hygiene kits to the local population along with other relief material. Mr Ranjit, MLA from Amarpur Legislative Assembly also visited the medical camp and appreciated the efforts of Assam Rifles.
