AMC Presents ₹475.83 Cr Budget for FY 2025-26

The Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) on Wednesday unveiled its budget for the fiscal year 2025-26, pegged at ₹475.83 crore, with an estimated expenditure of ₹476.50 crore — resulting in a projected deficit of ₹72.02 lakh.

Presenting the budget at the AMC conference hall, Mayor Dipak Majumder underlined the administration’s focus on public welfare and inclusive development. “This budget has been crafted with the well-being of Agartala’s citizens in mind. While we anticipate a modest deficit of ₹72.02 lakh, we are confident that the shortfall can be bridged through internal revenue generation and support from central government schemes,” he said.

Majumder also stressed the corporation’s commitment to strengthening its financial position by enhancing revenue efficiency and leveraging government initiatives. “Our goal is to ensure seamless civic services without compromising on development,” he added.

The budget places emphasis on key areas including urban infrastructure, sanitation, and community welfare, reaffirming AMC’s dedication to sustainable urban development. Civic officials further assured that fiscal prudence and effective resource utilization would guide the corporation’s operations throughout the year.
