With the initiative of the agriculture department of Ampi Nagar branch, a farmers' knowledge acquiring centre (sector office) and a 1000 MT capable large paddy godown which were newly constructed by the agriculture department here in Ampi Nagar in Gomati Tripura have been inaugurated by the agriculture minister Pranajit Singha Roy on Friday.
On this occasion, the concerned department authority has distributed mega agricultural equipment amenities among the local beneficiaries totally free of cost. To promote rural agriculture productions and enhance peasants' inspiration the agriculture department has provided farm machinery bank scheme amenities to the local beneficiaries in this inauguration occasion.
Local farmers have got big power tiller, small tractors, spray machine, pump set, brush cutter, winnowing cum thrashers etc.
As per the reports, the agriculture department of Ampi Nagar branch has taken a mega initiative to promote the agriculture sector here in Ampi Nagar block. Under the supervision of the branch superintendent Kohinoor Debbarma, a large scale of various departmental amenities have been provided to the local farmers for creating better achievement in future.
One of the officers said that the department is giving priority to organic agricultural products. Mega initiative has been accepted over organic cultivation and all kinds of essential tips and motivation have been given to the local farmers.
Addressing the local farmers the honourable agriculture minister Pranajit Singha Roy said, “We have constructed this 1000 MT capable paddy godown here at Ampi nagar for the advantageous circumstance of the local farmers. Last year the farmer could not sell their paddy properly as for vehicle carrying expenditure is an extra burden for the poor farmers. Onward now the local farmers will be able to sell their paddy here at Ampi nagar through govt. agencies as the paddy storage godown is already inaugurated. We are working hard to promote agriculture products like maize, sugarcane, paddy, vegetables etc and we are always ready to assist the farmers to obtain good achievement in agriculture. To make the poor beneficiaries self-help we have provided cattle, goats, pigs, chicken and mushroom cultivation amenities here at Ampi nagar and there is no doubt that the needy farmers are progressive step by step in the rural hamlets."
The minister motivated the local cultivators and assured them that the BJP administration is not like the left front. This government is always prompt to stretch helping hands towards farmers.
He advised the local peasants to submit an application for any kinds of farming assistance to the concerned authority and it will be implemented immediately with the most priority. To create inspiration over organic products the Ampi Nagar agricultural authority has distributed organic rice packets amidst the programme participants.
Among the others, Priyabrata Baidya, Deputy Director of Agriculture, Gomati district, Dipankar Dey, Deputy Director of Horticulture, Faruque Islam, Senior Scientist, Sindhu Chandra Jamatia, MLA of Ampi Nagar block, Sanjay Jamatia, Amar Pur block chairman, Kohinoor Debbarma, superintendent of Ampi nagar agricultural branch, local social activists and a large number of farmers remained present in the programme.
