Tripura Jawan martyred in Chhattisgarh Maoist attack

AGARTALA:

A CRPF constable hailed from the North-East states of Tripura is martyred in a Maoist attack at Chhattisgarh Jharkhand n Saturday. The martyred constable identified as Sambhu Roy was a resident of Dharmanagar Bhagyapur in North Tripura district.

Roy has left behind his father, mother, younger brother, and two sisters.

Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb has expressed his condolence at the demise of Shambhu Roy on his social media handle.

At least 22 security personnel were killed, 32 injured and one jawan was reportedly missing in a four-hour-long encounter with Maoists that took place on Saturday afternoon near Jonaguda village which falls under the Jagargunda police station area (in Sukma).

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday said a befitting response will be given to those responsible for the Naxal attack in Chhatisgarh at an appropriate time. He also said search operations are continuing in Chhattisgarh following the encounter.
