Altogether 81 jawans donated blood on the occasion of 10th Raising Day of 12 Battalion TSR at headquarters of the battalion at Chakmaghat today.
SP of Dhalai district inaugurated the programme at 11 a.m. today by lighting lamp, releasing balloon and cutting cake. Commandant of 6th Battalion TSR Jibesh Debbarma, Commandant of 10th Battalion TSR L. Darlong were also attended the inaugural programme. Commandant of 12th Battalion TSR Rati Ranjan Debnath delivered the welcome address.
Speaking on the occasion different speakers said, TSR jawans who were specially trained for combating terrorists are participating now in different social service and development works of the state as they have no major work at present.
Besides, the jawans are working for reaching drinking water and health service at remote areas of the state. They expected that the works would continue in days to come. Later SP inaugurated a blood donation camp and a sales stall of different items for common people in cheaper price.
Besides, different programmes of sports were organized on the occasion and different items distributed among destitute people free of cost.
