The Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) of India has said that the per capita income of Bihar is lower than its neighbours -- Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, Odisha and Madhya Pradesh.

The court also ordered ASI officials involved in the survey, besides the plaintiffs, defendants, and their advocates, district government counsel (civil) and other officials on Thursday not to share any information about the survey with the print, electronic and social media.

It appointed former Maharastra DGP Dattatray Padsalgikar to supervise the CBI investigation into the FIRs transferred to the central probe agency. He will also supervise the investigation into the remaining FIRs registered by the Manipur police. 

The bench said that the objective of constitution of such a committee is to restore the faith and confidence of the community in the justice system and secondly, to ensure that the rule of law is restored.
