A Bihar Military Police (BMP) jawan was lynched by his relative over property dispute in Bihar's Muzaffarpur district on Saturday. The deceased was identified as Vipendra Kumar Singh.

The victim has been identified as Kishan Dev Chaurasia (45) and a 20-year-old girl. Chaurasia is a music teacher who plays harmonium in religious (Bhajan Kirtan) programmes in the district and also gives tuition to youngsters.

Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav, who returned here from his US visit on Sunday, said that he, along with his RJD's chief Lalu Prasad Yadav and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, will do "surgery" of the BJP in the coming days.

The deceased has been identified as Mukesh Kumar Ram (30), a native of Khurda village in Madhepura district. Mukesh was a performer who used to display his acts in stage shows during Ram Leela and other religious events.

After a man killed his wife and daughters and then committed suicide in Khagaria, an eyewitness son revealed the entire sequence of events before the police and media persons on Wednesday.

The incident happened in a village under the Sahibganj police station in the early hours of Sunday. Sources said that the accused coaxed her husband to get tied to a tree as she wanted to click a selfie. Once tied him firmly, she poured kerosene oil and set him on fire.
