The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) said on Saturday that they have arrested an absconding accused in a case releated to the alleged rigging in Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) (Mains) examination-2021 by private coaching centres.

Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV), in the institution-wise category, has secured the best pass percentage in Central Board of Secondary Education's (CBSE) Class 10 and 12 examination results announced on Friday.

These toppers include Mayank Yadav from Noida, Diya Namdev from Shamli in Uttar Pradesh, and Purvanshu Garg and Anjali from Haryana. Apart from this, around 65,000 other students, from various parts of the country, have secured over 95 per cent marks.

The CBSE on Friday declared the class 10 exam results in which 94.40 per cent students have passed. This year the pass percentage of girl students has been 1.41 per cent higher than that of boys in class X.

Expressing satisfaction over the results, Tanya said that the CBSE 12th Board result is a proud achievement not only for her but for her entire family. Tanya thanked her teachers and family members for her achievement.

As the government begins to take steps to fix edtech platforms like BYJU's, several parents have shared their plight on social media and professional networking platforms as representatives from online education providers continue to force them to buy courses.

After the Centre took serious note of mis-selling of courses to parents by edtech firms including BYJU's and its group companies, self-regulatory organisation India Edtech Consortium (IEC) on Saturday said it is committed to protecting consumer interest and has resolved 100 per cent complaints received till June.

Announcing the NIRF 2022 ranking results on Friday, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, said: "The list of top institutes released in NIRF 2022 showcases the impartial and qualitative assessment done by the Education Ministry."

IIT-Madras has been declared the top educational institution in India in the overall ranking of all higher educational institutions while the Indian Institute of Science Bangalore has been adjudged as the best university in the country in the NIRF-2022 national ranking.
