As part of doubling the farmers' income, the Tripura Government has approved disbursement of Rs. 6000 financial assistance in three phases among farmers having agricultural land of up to two hectares under Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana.
Addressing a press conference the state agriculture minister Pranajit Singha Roy on Saturday said that the moving at oar with the Modi government at the centre, the government has decided to provide first installment of Rs. 2000 to the farmers having agricultural land of up to two hectares and remaining Rs. 4000 will be paid in two other equal installments.
Meantime, the agriculture minister Pranajit Singha Roy today also informed that the Tripura government has targeted to bring over 1 lakh farmers in the state under the coverage of Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojna. The Minister also said that around 21,500 hectares of land in the high risk zone was targeted to implement the PMFBY.
