At least seven houses gutted in a devastating fire at Katashewla of Jogendranagar at last night at about 1:30 a.m.
Sources said that five bamboo made houses gutted at the house of Narayan Das. All the neighbors woke hearing hue and cry of people. On being informed Fire Service and police from College Tilla Outpost rushed to the spot. Four engines of Fire Service brought the fire under control at about 3 p.m.
Meanwhile MP Sankar Prasad Dutta and others visited the affected houses today. He requested the administration to arrange compensation for the affected families after assessment of loss.
