An elderly woman died after being electrocuted while doing household work at her residence in Korailong area under Teliamura Police Station on Thursday, triggering grief in the locality.
According to local sources, the victim, identified as Anu Yadav, accidentally came into contact with a live electrical source while carrying out her daily household chores and sustained severe electric shock.
Family members immediately rushed her to Teliamura Sub-Divisional Hospital for treatment. However, after examination, the attending doctors declared her brought dead. Despite all efforts by the medical team, her life could not be saved.
The tragic incident has cast a pall of gloom over the Korailong area. Relatives and neighbours rushed to the hospital after receiving the news. The sudden demise of the elderly woman has left her family and the local community in deep mourning.
