The Indian equity indices witnessed a sharp rally last week as Sensex and Nifty both made new all-time highs of 85,978.25 and 26,277.35 respectively. Now, the market outlook for next week looks very positive, experts said.

The Indian stock market continued to witness the bull run this week, marking a 1.7 per cent increase and the third consecutive weekly gain, with Sensex hitting 85,000 for the first time and Nifty trading at an all-time high.

Indian frontline equity indices were trading near record highs as heavyweight IT stocks like Infosys, Wipro, TCS and Tech Mahindra gained after a positive revision of Accenture's revenue guidance for FY25. 

Selling was seen in the midcap and smallcap stocks. Nifty midcap 100 index was down 375 points or 0.62 per cent at 60,089 and Nifty smallcap 100 index was down 104 points or 0.54 per cent at 19,252.

A mixed trend was seen in the midcap and smallcap stocks. Nifty midcap 100 index was down 200 points or 0.33 per cent at 60,650 and Nifty smallcap 100 index was up 34 points or 0.18 per cent at 19,473.

At 9:48 a.m., Sensex was up 75 points or 0.09 per cent at 85,004 and Nifty was up 25 points or 0.09 per cent at 25,964. It was the first time the BSE's benchmark traded above 85,000.

At closing, Sensex was up 1,359 points, or 1.63 per cent, at 84,544 and Nifty was up 375 points, or 1.48 per cent, at 25,790. Nifty Bank was up 755 points, or 1.42 per cent, at 53,793.

Indian equity indices closed with marginal gains as market investors shifted their focus to the US Federal Open Market Committee's policy meeting, starting later in the day on Tuesday.

Buying was seen in the midcap and smallcap stocks. The Nifty Midcap 100 index was at 59,640, up 702 points or 1.19 per cent and the Nifty Smallcap 100 index was at 19,354, up 192 points or 1.01 per cent.

At closing, Sensex was down 398 points, or 0.49 per cent, at 81,523 and Nifty was down 122 points, or 0.49 per cent, at 24,918. Selling was led by banking stocks. Nifty Bank was down by 262 points, or 0.51 per cent, at 51,010.

In the Sensex pack, Reliance, Bharti Airtel, Tata Motors, Nestle, M&M, Power Grid, Bajaj Finance, L&T, JSW Steel, Sun Pharma, and UltraTech Cement were the top losers. Titan, Wipro, ITC, Infosys, Tata Steel, SBI, Asian Paints, and HDFC Bank were the top gainers.

In the Sensex pack, ICICI Bank, Bajaj Finserv, Titan, Nestle, HDFC Bank, Wipro, SBI, M&M, L&T, Kotak Mahindra, and UltraTech Cement were the top gainers. Bajaj Finance, Infosys, JSW Steel, HCL Tech, IndusInd Bank and Bharti Airtel were the top losers.

In the Sensex pack, Bajaj Finserv, Bajaj Finance, HCL Tech, IndusInd Bank, ITC, UltraTech Cement, Axis Bank, Infosys, Asian Paints, SBI, Titan and Tech Mahindra were the top gainers.

The Indian equity market closed at an all-time high before the release of the GDP numbers at 5:30 P.M. on Friday. At closing, the Sensex was at 82,365, up 231 points or 0.28 per cent and Nifty was at 25,235, up 83 points or 0.33 per cent.

The Nifty Midcap 100 index closed at 58,883, down 262 points or 0.44 per cent, and the Nifty Smallcap 100 index closed at 19,214, down 105 points or 0.54 per cent.

Weakness was seen in the midcap and smallcap stocks compared to largecap stocks. Nifty midcap 100 index was up 42 points or 0.07 per cent at 59,263 and Nifty smallcap 100 index was up 56 points or 0.29 per cent at 19,389.

At closing, Sensex was at 81,711 with a slight gain of 13.65 points and Nifty closed at 25,017 with a gain of 7 points. It is the second consecutive day when the National Stock Exchange (NSE) benchmark closed above 25,000.

Indian equity indices opened strong on Friday following positive global cues, including optimism around a potential rate cut by the US Federal Reserve next month.

Buying was also seen in the smallcap and midcap. The Nifty midcap 100 index rose 493 points or 0.87 per cent to 57,174 and the Nifty smallcap 100 index rose 102 points or 0.56 per cent to 18,410.

The National Stock Exchange (NSE) on Thursday said the unique registered investor base on the exchange has crossed the ten-crore mark for the first time.

All 30 stocks in the Sensex pack opened in the green. Infosys, M&M, Maruti Suzuki, Wipro, Tech Mahindra, JSW Steel, Tata Steel and UltraTech Cement are the top gainers.

The Indian benchmark indices roared back on Tuesday after a dismal Monday, as Sensex surged more than 900 points and Nifty traded nearly 300 points up in the early morning trade.

Heavy selling pressure was seen in all major Asian markets. Japan crashed by 10 per cent, Seoul tumbled over 8 per cent, Taipei fell by 4.43 per cent, Jakarta was down nearly 2 per cent, Hong Kong and Shanghai were down 1.43 per cent and 0.83 per cent) respectively.

At closing, Sensex ended at 81,867, up 126 points or 0.15 per cent and Nifty was up 59 points or 0.24 per cent at 25,010. It was the first time in the Indian stock market history that the Nifty closed above 25,000.

Buying is also seen in the midcap and smallcap stocks. The Nifty midcap 100 index is up 213 points or 0.36 per cent at 59,222 and the Nifty smallcap 100 index was at 19,227, up 90 points or 0.47 per cent.
