Despite a repeated appeal by the Prime Minister of India and Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb, a youth in Tripura is found to have allegedly posted fake news and information on COVID-19 positive case in social media.
The youth identified as Abhishek Dhar resident of Badarghat is arrested later by the police of AD Nagar police station.
According to the report, the youth arrested today is found to have posted fake information stating that a COVID-19 positive case is detected in his area.
The incident took place here today afternoon after the police of the cybercrime branch noticed the post and immediately got detained the youth.
The Tripura government moving in line with the center is putting the utmost effort to closely monitor the rumor-mongering in social media in view of the global outbreak of COVID-19.
