In what appears to be a major step to enhance tourist footfalls in the state, Tripura Tourism Corporation Limited and the state government has started taking started numerous initiatives.
In a major development, the tourism corporation has started a new bus service from Agartala to Chabimura, a premier tourist destination of the state. The bus will start on 8:00 am in the morning from Agartala and will come back by 6:00 pm by the evening every Sunday. The full AC coach bus will charge Rs 380 per ticket.
Speaking to this website, a higher official of the department said, according to our reports the major problem that the domestic, as well as outstation tourists, come across in course of their journey is connectivity and thus the department is now focusing to connect all the tourists’ spots, one by one, with the capital city by some time.
“In terms of adventure tourism—the trending word, Chabimura is a resource for the state which can draw attention of huge number of tourists. However, till date, there is a connectivity crisis felt by the department. And, as the season of tourism has arrived a decision has been taken to start the services” the official said with a wish to be unnamed.
Apart from this the tourism development corporation has also undertaken several steps to provide better assistance to the tourists coming from various other states.
“In an attempt to provide better services to the visiting tourists, recently the Tourist Information Centre (TIC) located in the arrival lounge of Agartala MBB Airport, has been revamped with better equipments. TTDCL provides information about various tourist destinations, modes of travel - Taxi service, accommodation and travel guide from the Tourist Information Centre (TIC)” the official informed this website.
