Tripura SSA Teachers Welfare Association has submitted a memorandum to State Project Director of Secondary Education for settlement of issued observed in results of Sr. Secondary level Examination and D.El.Ed. Course held by NIOS in October, 2018.
The secretary of the TSTWA stated that the examination for improvement of marks /qualification at Sr. Secondary level through National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) for in-service teachers was held in October, 2018. Around 2000 Contract Teachers of SSA Mission, Tripura had appeared in the examination. Recently the results of the examination have been declared.
It is found that despite having appeared in the subjects requiring improvement status and result of maximum Contract Teachers and other teachers have been either shown as absent, filed and RW (85% to 95%). Further there are discrepancies in result of D. El Ed. Course conducted by NIOS.
As per MHRD, Government of India guideline all elementary teachers are required to possess the requisite marks at Secondary level exam along with D.El Ed. qualification by 31st March, 2019. But the aforesaid discrepancies observed in the results have created astonishment and disappointment among the Contract Teachers of SSA, Tripura.
Referring the requisite qualification and D.El. Ed. course within the framed timeline being extremely necessary for securing job of SSA teachers and their livelihood he attracted attention of the State Project Director to view the matter from a humanitarian perspective and ensure a solution for the matter under reference.
