Tripura to get NE's largest regional institute for Cancer soon

AGARTALA:

To provide treatment to cancer patients of the of the State of Tripura and covering rest of the states of North East India, undertake prevention, early detection and awareness generation, the Tripura to soon get its first ever largest regional cancer centre in North East India. "The institution considered to be the largest in North East region of the country shall be launched soon here at Agartala," said Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb today.

He was addressing a large gathering of students of Tripura Institute of Paramedical Science in its 11th foundation programme here at Agartala.

He said, "Rs. 160 crore is spending in constructing this building of cancer centre. Very soon it will start functioning." Adding to this the CM said, "Sophisticated machineries are installed in the centre for first detection and function. And for this we require experts for its, maintenance, which we can get from this college."

"The passed out meritorious and experts and lab technicians from TIPS are required to serve the purpose of this regional institute," Mr. Deb said.
