Tripura launches portability of ration card through digitalisation

AGARTALA:

Joining the centre's move in implementation of 'One Nation One Ration Card', the Tripura along with rest of the nation has started implementing ration card portability in drawing ration by beneficiaries from December itself.

The move has come up so as to protect the consumers' right through digitalisation, where the beneficiaries will be facilitated to draw their ration from any ration shop with their ration card and Aadhaar number.

Currently the state has 1,810 ration shops of which 392 fall under Agartala Municipal Corporation areas.

In the event of any difficulty in drawing ration, the consumers can contact the concerned SDM or food inspector and file a complaint. The government has also activated toll free numbers (1967 or 1800-345-3665) to file complaints.
