Tripura CM wants Rs. 100 crore turnovers from Neermahal water palace

AGARTALA:

Amazed by the infrastructural and over all development of the Jal Mahal in Rajasthan, the Chief Minister of Tripura Biplab Kumar Deb now wants Rs. 100 crore turnovers from the one of the only two lake palaces in India – Neermahal a water palace also considered to be the largest water palace in the country located about 53 KM away from the capital city of Tripura, Agartala, in the town of Melagarh in Sepahijala district of the state.

“My government is working to develop this water palace and lifestyle of the people across the Rudrasagar lake where the palace is erected,” adding to this Mr. Deb today said, “I want Rs. 100 crore turnover from this palace by introducing this palace to the entire nation so as to attract more tourist.”

The Chief Minister was addressing an inauguration programme of 4 days long Neermahal water festival at Melagarh today. The festival has began from September 13 and shall continue till September 16. Traditional boat race and swimming completion is arranged in the festival.

Mr. Deb slammed the then Left front government in Tripura and said, “The 25 years rule of this Left government has done nothing for this water palace whereas the 18 months of the BJP led coalition government in Tripura is working to boost the tourism sector of the state which perhaps is the most priority sector for this government that can bring hefty revenue.”

“Despite the fact that the Neermahal cooperative society was established in 1952, but so far one has no opportunity to earn upto Rs. 5000 in 30 minutes in this Rudrasagar lake,” adding to this Mr. Deb said, “Whereas one has to pay a minimum of Rs. 5000 for hotel booking there at Rajasthan’s Jalmahal, which has world class facilities for the tourists from this nation and abroad.”

Terming the previous government as shameless for destroying the state rather than developing it, Mr. Deb today said, “If I could have got an opportunity to sit in power for 20 years in this state I would have already develop tourism in Neermahal and make it more worthy than that of Rajsthan’s Jalmahal.”

He said, “The 18 months of this BJP led coalition government has provided a total of 10, 340 ducks of 50, 000 to the locals of Melagarh who are residing adjacent of the Rudrasagar lake to ease their standard of living. More 2500 ducks shall be provided during the next couple of days.”

Meantime, the Chief Minister assured of approving the proposed Rs. 2.85 crore Project of hybrid fish farming in Rudrasagar Lake. “Within 5 years I will work on introducing this Neermahal water palace to the people of this state who are still unaware of it and it’s history.”

The Chief Minister however urged upon the cooperative society to join hands with the government in developing tourism in Neermahal. Mr. Deb urged upon to primarily introduce modernised boat riding facility by paying from their revenue generation so as to attract more tourists from state and abroad.
