Tripura CM wants 'destination to destination' transportation from B'desh to Tripura and vice-versa

AGARTALA:

Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb today urged upon the Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to find out the feasibility of starting destination to destination commercial and passenger vehicles from Bangladesh to Tripura and allow Tripura's vehicle to enter Bangladesh destination point.

The Chief Minister was addressing the India Bangladesh stakeholders' meet in Guwahati today. Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, delegates from Assam, Tripura and Bangladesh including Bangladesh Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi and Bangladesh PMO Advisor also remained present in the programme.

"Destination to destination ply of passengers and commercial vehicles of both the country shall ease the passengers from both the nation as the passengers boarding their vehicle from Bangladesh can directly reach to their destination point in Agartala MBB airport to fly abroad and vice versa," adding to this Mr. Deb today said, "This would actually reduce the transportation cost for the passengers of both the nation."

Mr. Deb felt the necessity of installing immigration point in the Akhaura Check Post so as to facilitate the passengers from flying or moving abroad.
