Tripura CM reacts sharp on ‘Bandh’ against CAB, terms it ‘baseless’

AGARTALA:

As the tribals in Tripura are united to oppose the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill – 2016 and intensified their protest across the state especially in the areas under Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC), the Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb reacted sharp on this and said, “A section of parties are organising conspiracy against the developmental pace of the government.”

“Protest in the name of CAB is simply baseless and meaningless,” adding to this Mr. Deb, “Why protest when the Union Home Minister while passing the bill in the lower house of the parliament has already declared that CAB shall not be implemented in TTAADC.”

He said, “This bandh has not put any adverse impact in the state as the development loving people of this state are clear with the vision and mission of the government.” The Chief Minister further said, “This bill will not put any adverse impact on the nation as a whole and also in North-East India.”

However, a giant gathering of tribal youths are witnessed on Tuesday here at the capital town of Agartala intensifying their protest against CAB. The tribals gathered in Agartala Swami Vivekananda Ground and opposed the bill.

Meantime, the protest is intensified in the TTAADC areas of the state today as the Joint Action Committee of the tribals in the state has called for an indefinite strike from Monday onwards.
