So as to provide more education to the Divyangans of the state with modern tools and make them capable of competing for different government jobs reserved for them, the Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb on Tuesday announced fresh scheme - 'Sokhom Tripura'. The Tripura along with rest of the nation today observed the International Divyangan Day here at Agartala followed by series of programme organised in different parts of the state.
"The BJP lead coalition government in Tripura has hiked the reservation for the Divyangans of the state from 3 per cent to 4 per cent," adding to this Mr. Deb said, "Government has now introduced 21 parameters to bring more and more Divyangans in government reservation which was earlier done with only 7 parameters."
The Chief Minister today said that not only reservation but also proper education is mandatory and mostly required for the Divyangans of the state to participate in government jobs. He said, "The new scheme to be launched soon for the Divyangans shall include modern educational tools which shall render proper and quality education to the Divyangans and make them capable to work in government sectors across the state."
"The centre has sanctioned Rs. 33.73 crore for the state government to build ramps, toilets and other facilities for the Divyangans in 14 different government bhawans," adding to this Mr. Deb today said, "We have initiated a process of building ramps in the government run TRTC buses in the state."
Meantime, the Chief Minister today said, "As part of digitalisation drive the Tripura government has taken an initiative to facilitate the Divyangans in accessing different government websites hurdle-free."
