Tea Research Association organized four days Training Camp for tea farmers with a target of increasing production of tea and economic self –reliance of the tea farmers in Tripura.
The training camp inaugurated today at the conference hall of Manu Valley Tea Garden Office at about 10 a.m. today. In the camp practical know how of tea plantation will be provided to 30 tribal small scale tea farmers.
Senior Manager of the tea garden Anirban Majumder, Advisory Officer of Tea Research Association Ananta Dutta, Development Officer of Tea Board Mani Sankar Mallik and Accounts Manager Prabir Dey were participated in the discussion.
Later the 30 trainee farmers were made aware about tea leaf plucking, use of insecticide, application of fertilizer by going in the tea garden. Besides an overall idea about tea plantation will be provided the small level tea farmers in the 4 days camp.
The authority will hand over 4 machines to each of the farmers tomorrow for application of fertilizer tomorrow. The camp organized by Tea Research Association and Tea Board to encourage the farmers for growing tea plants.
