Students of Narsingarh Blind School today staged a sit-in demonstration before the school compound protesting against repeated transfer of teachers.
The school which is already running under serious scarcity of subject teachers—Mathematics, English and Science, once again faced a transfer drive reducing the faculty strength from 14 to 12.
According to reports, one of the faculty member was transferred a few days ago assuring the students that some other teacher would replace him. But, yesterday, another teacher of the school was transferred and yet again without replacement. With the spread of this news, students of the school started protesting against the transfer orders. Immediately, the students staged a sit in demonstration in front of the school premises seeking cancellation of the transfer orders.
The two and a half hour long protest ended when higher officials of education department rushed to the spot and assured the students of cancelling the transfer orders and all the support.
Notably, the Higher Secondary school which is known for its good results in the board exams has altogether, 62 visually impaired students enrolled with it. In this year’s board results, three students passed with first division in the Madhyamik examinations.
