Under 14, Under 17 and Under 19 Boy’s and Girl’s State School Gymnastics tournament held today at Badharghat Dasarath Deb Sports Complex Indoor Hall in between huge enthusiasm among the participants. Total 55 Gymnasts from various schools took part in the tournament.
In the morning Arjun Awardee Gymnast Mantu Debnath inaugurates the tournament while among the others dignitaries Deputy Director of West District Youth and Sports department Mrinal Kanti Das, Sports Officer Bharati Nigam, Assistant Director Kaberi Debbarma remained present.
From this tournament several fresh talents have been came out from the three sections. In the Under 14 Boy’s Individual All round championship Sagar Mohammad of Rajnagar School bagged the first place while Sagar Ghosh of Sports School and Debajit Das of Umakanta bagged the second and third place.
Sahar Ahmed secured first position in Roman Rings, Parallel Bar and Horizontal Bar while in Pomel Horse and Floor Exercise Sagar ghosh secured the first position. In the Girl’s section Souravita Das of Tripura Sports School secured the top position in individual all-round championship event.
While in the same category Sarmili Chakraborty of Madhuban School and Rishita Saha of Assam Rifles bagged the second and third place respectively. Sarmili Chakraborty of Madhuban School also bagged the first position in Vaulting Table, Balancing beam and Floor Exercise with brilliant performance.
In Under 17 Boy’s Bijoy Debnath of Kabiraj Tilla School became champion in Individual All round championship while in the same category Subhasish Bhowmik of Pragati School and Dipangshu Sinha of Hindi School became second and third respectively. Bijoy became champ in Pomel Horse and Vaulting Table.
In the Girl’s Individual all round championship Debasree Sarkar of Tripura Sports School became champion while Ankita Banik of Tripura Sports School and Priyanka Das of Subhasnagar School bagged the second and third place respectively. Debasree won in Uneven Bar, Floor Exercise and Balancing Beam.
In the under 17 Boy’s Individual All round champion Pawan Sarkar of Tripura Sports school secured the first position while Bishal Ghosh of Sukhamay School and Joydeb Ghosh of Umakanta Academy secured the second and third position respectively. Bishal won in Parallel Bar and Flood Exercise.
