In an unprecedented incident, a grocery shop owned by one Raju Saha of Dharmanagar mission road was ransacked last evening by a group of miscreants suspected to have links with the ruling party.
In reference to the incident it is known that a group of people allegedly troops of BJP Dharmanagar Mandal General Secretary Malay Deb barged into the shop owned by Raju and vandalized the interior.
According to sources in the police, Malay Deb glued a hand written “To Let” notice in the wall of Raju’s shop without seeking his consent. When Raju noticed this, he immediately put the notice down and confronted Malay for his arbitrary act which followed a verbal dual between them.
The hot altercation immediately took the turn of fistfights and arson. However, the intervention of local police and senior political leaders somehow managed to control the situation.
But in the late evening another attack took place at the shop of Raju. Both the parties have lodged FIR and counter FIR with the local police station and since then the situation is under control.
Meanwhile, Raju fled away from his house as he might have faced similar attacks in future.
