SFI-TSU demands Govt to end teachers' crisis in schools across Tripura

AGARTALA:

The Student Federation of India (SFI) and Tripura Students’ Union (TSU) state committee has hit the streets of the capital town of Agartala on Wednesday to demand for deployment of adequate teachers in the schools across the state, which are reeling under acute crisis.

The activists accompanied by the supporters of both the students’ body of the CPI-M party led by SFI state secretary Sandipan Deb were detained by the police while they were on streets slogging against the government.

Deb said, “In this present situation, where the government has completely failed to recruit over 3000 TET qualified aspirants, the students in various schools of the state have now come to the streets in demand of teachers.”

“Students in different government aided schools are facing severe difficulties as the schools do not have enough teachers. Government should take an immediate initiative to deploy an adequate number of teachers in those schools for the welfare of the students,” he said.

On the other hand, the SFI state secretary expressed concern over the role of police and accused the government to allege that police administration is being used to throttle the voice of the students. “Government cannot throttle the voice of the students who are demanding teachers in their schools,” he said.
