Security is beefed up all across and especially in the bordering areas, as the state prepares for the celebration of 73rd Independence Day. Strength of security forces was augmented in vital installations like Raj Bhavan, Civil Secretariat, Assembly House and vehicles entering into the state capital from other places were being checked so that no untoward element could sneak.
All police stations in Tripura are put on maximum alert and BSF has been alerted in the bordering areas of the state despite a large number of insurgents of NLFT-SD group today surrendered before the police in presence of Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb after a peace pact was signed.
Meantime, keeping eye on the Independence Day celebration, a full dress rehearsal parade was held at Assam Riffles ground on Tuesday. The force of Tripura Police, TSR, NCC, NSS and others participated in the parade.
The main program of Independence Day celebration will be held at Assam Riffles ground where the National flag will be unfurled on August 15.
