Rash driving claims two lives

AGARTALA:

Road accidents following rash and negligent driving increased heavily across the state in last few months. Being the latest, two youths were killed after a speeding bus collided head on with a scooty near Babul Chowmuhani market this afternoon. 

Both the deceased- Rubel Miah (28), the rider of Rajeswarinagar (Fultali) and Billal Miah, the pillion rider (26) of Brajendranagar were on the Bishalgarh-bound Scooty (TR01-Y-5650), police said.

Local sources said the passenger bus was proceeding towards Agartala from Bishalgarh with a heavy speed. When the vehicle reached Babul Chowmuhani, it collided head-on with the scooty that was coming from opposite direction. As a result, both youths who were on the scooty fell down on the ground and sustained critical injuries on their persons.

It was then that the Fire Service personnel rushed to the spot and took the injured persons to Tripura Medical College (TMC) where the attending doctor pronounced Rubel brought dead and referred Billal to GBP hospital where he died later on. Amtali police registered a case and already initiated a probe in this regard.
