Rakhal Shield Knock Out Football: Tripura Police moves to quarter final

AGARTALA:

Tripura Police today defeated Birendra Club by 1-0 in the opening match of Rakhal Memorial Knock out football tournament. With this win Tripura Police made their place to the quarterfinal of the tournament.

The tournament started from today at Umakanta mini stadium as with this tournament football event once against got underway at Umakanta stadium. In the quarter final on October 20 Tripura Police to face Jewels Association.

In the match goal post became the villain for Birendra Club as two certain shots returned after touching the cross bar. Both the teams tried to play well in the match but failed as lack of understanding was seen among the Police team.

In the 21st minute of the match Sahadeb Debbarma’s shot touched the cross bar while in the 25th minute of the match Kiran Chetri scored the opening and only goal for Tripura Police. After that no more further goals have been scored as in the end Tripura Police won the match by 1-0 and moved to the last eight of the tournament. Uttam Saha was the referee of the match.
