Tirthamukh Poush Sankranti Mela of Dambur is being organized in the state from time immemorial. It could be predicted that the fair introduced from the period of royal rule in Tripura although there is no history of this fair. This year also the fair will be organized with the mode of festivity to welcome thousands of devotees.
A preparatory meeting of the fair organized today in presence of DM of Gomati T.K. Debnath at Nutanbazar today. Among others Officer Sajal Biswas, SDM of Karbook Biswajit Pal, MLA Burba Mohan Tripura, BAC Chairman of Karbook Ashim Tripura, BDO of Karbook Jayanta Dey, BDO of Shilacherri and local people were present in the meeting.
It was decided that the preparation of the Mela will be completed within January 10 and shopping space for Mela will be distributed among the shop keepers on January 1. About 480 stalls spaces will be provided among the shop keepers.
It has been decided to open 17 Government stalls in the fair. More than 200 security personnel will be deployed to keep the fair fee from any disturbance. Meanwhile preparation started to deploy 150 volunteers, provide parking place, install cc camera and to prepare temporary bridge.
Addressing the meeting DM said, funding for fair is not a big thing, the thing which matters is mentality of each and everyone. Giving the reference of Matabari Mela he said, the expenditure of the fair was less in comparison to previous fair as fund each budget was spent properly with right thinking.
He advised all the departments to follow the procedure at Tirthamukh Mela. He told to BDO of Karbook that an amount of Rs.17 lakh could be spent for distribution of shopping spece, government stall and to promote labour.
